A new day in America. I could just die for all the fresh air flowing around right now.

Beer always tastes best at the lake. A shot from last summer to remind us that less frigid days will come again.

Graham chillin' at the 'mat. Taking such good care of his blankie is tiring.

Well, I don't think I can live by B+W alone. The color in this one makes it live so I'm breaking the rules and mixing 'em up.

A NOAA(National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration) facility in Glasgow, MT. I was hanging around taking photos when a man came out of a building and launched a six foot diameter balloon with a long cord and box attached. They apparently do this a couple of times a day and the thing sends back data as it travels up through the atmosphere. There is a return address with every one but they rarely get one back. Pretty cool really and no doubt the way information is gathered to bring you all the never ending info on that Weather Channel your riveted all day.

Another shot from north eastern Montana somewhere near Wolf Point. It was nice to see a part of the country that was new to me and such an important part of America. It's hard to imagine how huge this area is until you go there, truly the inland sea of grass, and an area that produces a majority of the worlds wheat and lentils. It was sad to leave and I can see how folks get attached and love this place, harsh as it is.

Living in the arid west makes it easy to love the cottonwood tree, so often the only respite from the relentless summer sun and a reliable indicator of water. A true friend to cast your blanket under.
