Burn Fun

I don't like the fourth of July, the romanticisation of death by fire, though a liberation it brought. The fireworks have started here and will likely continue until the end of the month. Woe to our poor and terrified dogs. Looking up at the skybound explosions all I can see are images of the "Shock and Awe" campaign that took over the TV after our country unleashed it's misguided wrath on the people of the mideast, and Rumsfeld saying, "These things happen...". I was shopping at a big box office store when we rained our fire on them and stood transfixed with a store employee in front of a TV that was tuned in to the action. "We are so going to lose.", I said. He looked at me with the skepticism of arrogance but as he began to walk away looked back again, and I could see that he knew it too. Someone had made a terrible mistake and it was all very confusing. If the meek shall inherit the earth, where does that leave all the self proclaimed Christian hypocrites that are dropping the bombs? I hate intolerence, man...
